Description: Áreas Sob Contrato são áreas que foram arrematadas em rodadas de licitações da ANP e encontram-se regidas por diferentes tipos de contratos (Concessão, Partilha da Produção e Cessão Onerosa). Essas áreas podem estar em diferentes fases dentro do ciclo de evolução dos projetos de exploração e produção de petróleo e gás natural, a saber:Bloco exploratório – área ainda na fase inicial de busca por descobertas de acumulações de hidrocarbonetos, denominado como Recurso Não Descoberto – Empresa, ou, RND-E; Bloco exploratório, com Plano de Avaliação de Descoberta (PAD) - área em fase mais avançada na exploração na qual já foi realizada descoberta de pelo menos uma acumulação de hidrocarboneto, e esta encontra-se sob avaliação. Essa área é denominada como Recurso Contingente (RC); e Campo – área delimitada no momento em que é feita a Declaração de Comercialidade, após avaliação ao longo de um PAD, e que ao final deste a empresa detentora dos direitos de exploração, ou consórcio de empresas, entende que a(s) acumulação(ões) avaliada(s) é (são) comercialmente viável(eis) para produção. Neste momento, essa área passa a ser designada como um campo, e classificada como Recurso Total (RT).Há, ainda, uma distinção entre os tipos de recursos categorizados acima, quanto à natureza do reservatório da acumulação que se espera encontrar na área. Caso haja expectativa de que esses reservatórios sejam de baixa ou muito baixa permeabilidade e/ou porosidade, esses recursos podem ser denominados como Recursos Não Convencionais (RNC). Assim, um bloco exploratório com essa expectativa é denominado como Recurso Não Convencional Não Descoberto (RNC_RND). Se for um bloco exploratório, com PAD, nessa condição, ele será designado como Recurso Não Convencional Contingente (RNC_RC).
